Hello P42,

Lemme start by saying you guys kickass and have been since the beggening. I have been to many of the first p42s, back when q2 arena was the game to play. I had dropped out of the scene for a few years but am back in action and went to the last p42 where I won a case that I put to good use making a beasty game machine.

I have a few questions and concerns regarding the upcoming G33X lan.

1. Security - I am not going to be around the whole 55hours of the lan (i pity the fool who is) and am worried about my stuff. I work from my PC as well as game so its pretty important to me, and I plan on going out to the bar, going home to sleep and shower, all while the lan continues on. Is my stuff going to be OK sitting there? Because I am not a fan of loading/unloading my shiznit 4 times.

2. Seating - I have friends coming in from out of town. Whats the word on reserving areas around me to make sure they don't get screwed and have to sit next to "The Gaurdian" (j/k man, u rock). I also always bring my own chair for comfort, and its nice to wheel shit around on.

3. Dual Monitors - I have become accustmed to dual monitors. I am taking summer classes and plan on doing some online classes from the lan, as well as running IRC, hosting a vent server for my clan, and keeping web pages of all the lan details on my secondary monitor, that way my windows don't get clustered and I can keep an eye on whats going on while I am gaming. I have a 21'' and a 17''.

p.s. Heres a shot of my beasty PC that I built with the case I won last lan.

1, there will be a guard posted, and I think the GEEX organizers are going to link your user ID with a bar bode sticker that they'll place on your largest devices. Just to let you know, out of the 49 other parties, we've only had a single issue with theft and it involved some one taking some's head phones, and later returning them... Kinda odd lol.

2, if they prepay, they're gonna get a seat, if you want to sit together, that is fine, we'll try to get everyone to fill in the seats as they come to leave room for groups, and there usually isn't any problem with finding 4+ seats together. No worries about bringing your own chair, you are more than welcome to do so.

3, Each person will get about 8 square feet of table space (about 3' wide, 2.5' deep) on standard banquet style tables, so keep that in mind with your monitor setup. I'd advise putting your PC on the table instead of the floor, however the room we are in is carpeted so dust won't be much of an issue, it's just feet and the random drink/food spilling through the table cracks to worry about. You might want to look for an end seat, and advise the rest of your friends, that whichever one shows up first, reserves the seats for the others. Again though, if they haven't paid yet, they'll lose the seat if there is a shortage for the people that have paid.
