You read that correctly, it seems the first show was enough of a success and has enough potential to warrant a second one! The show will be at the South Towne Expo Center this time, which is a good alternative, with free parking and better accessibility options than the Salt Palace. Check back for more details as they come in!

Woot that rocks. That should give plenty of time for things...
Pic is already up on geexshow.com

plenty of time to fine tune things even further. Lessons have been learned, and we'll be applying that to not only GEEX, but P42 events as well.
It's a good time to be a gamer in Utah right now.
South Towne Expo Center being located in a residential area will generate alot more foot traffic than the Salt Palace, parents will be more willing to drop their kids off at South Towne vs. Salt Palace, one downside to South Towne is lack of hotel within walking distance, but the large parking lot allows for RV's and Trailers.
I wonder if those dates are set in stone? Wonder if they'd be willing to extend to Sunday half day? Does anyone know if they have space reserved and if so how much?
Calm down there tiger, it's only been 3 days since the last one... More info will come pooring out of the tubes soon.
The dates are firm. It will go through Sunday. They have 1 hall purchased, which is nearly 50,000 square feet, the last one was in about 16,000 square feet, so about 3x the space.
Tiger here.. thanks for the info..
No problem.

Thats great news! Im happy P42 is performing the engineering part of GEEX.
"Bridge to engineering, we need more bandwidth"
I wonder if there will be more cosplay chicks there than last time or if that's a downtown phenomena.
I can't wait to beat down sure shot!!!!!!!!
someone has to.. maybe in November at our event.

Will there be a Team Fortress 2 tournament? (I realize this is a little preliminary, but I have been talking to people out of state about traveling to SLC for a TF2 tourney, so the more time they have to plan, the better)
riv what team were you on during geex/ did you play at the p42 lan?
I'm sure there will be a TF2 tournament going on. That was one of the most entertaining to watch, so I'm sure they'll keep that one going. I know I'll be requesting it.

you cant play for 3mc this time

I was not at GEEX because I had no team. I did go to the p42 LAN on Nov 1st 2008, despite not having a team. It was a lot of fun.
I ended up joining a pickup team; I don't remember the exact name of the team but it had something to do with nuts and people have NUT in their tag names.
I hope to participate in a more organized fashion next time. My quest to get out of state friends isn't working too well so far. So far, I've got three no's, one maybe, and another doubtful
Damn lazy gamers. lol
The p42 crew always has a pug team going, if nothing else, you can join us. We made it to the finals last year, cuz Peno carries the team...
Finals? I think not. Karma vs. Geexbox for finals. :-)
