Hello gamers. The LAN party is right around the corner, and we will be opening registrations very soon. We will also be making a few changes the forum and site back end code before we open them. We expect this to take about 2 weeks to complete, giving some extra time for the staffs extra busy lifestyles as of late.
The tournament page is basic at the moment, but it does have information on the tournaments we will be running. NVIDIA is wanting to sponsor the TF2 tournament, which should make it quite interresting.
Remember, the tournament will be 8v8 with a random draft, so practicing with your buddies won't help you as much as being a generally all around good player. I don't know what they want to give yet, so I'll announce that as the party closes in.
Stay tuned for updated info, and keep your email boxes open, you'll probably get some double helpings of P42 spam in a couple of weeks.

I don't know why no one speaks up until after the fact, but the TF2 tournament will not be random draft. Sorry, you can pull your panties out of your butt crack now.

HORRIBLE!! Common man, let's do away with the random draft. Keep it simple. Let us come in with our own teams and compete. Implementing team strategy is part of the fun with TF2. Having teams where 1 or 2 guys can ruin it for the rest of the team is nothing but frustrating and will do nothing but piss people off. Let's move it back to a "Bring your own team and compete as a team" format.

to be honest, I was all gung-ho for this until i noticed that the tournament for TF2 is going to be random. What's the point of even practicing when you're going to get random people of questionable skills for a "tournament".
Knowing that the entire outcome is determined by pure chance is awefully disturbing.
Get good enough to carry weaker players and it's all the more rewarding ^_^

As a Addicted TF2 player I think the random draft idea is "No Bueno"
This would have been cool last year as TF2 was a new game and no one was "great" at it but its pretty concrete now as the IMO replacement for CSS.

WHAT? You are changing it from random back to teams, that sucks sucks suck I cant believe that. I have noooo friends, I thought this time I would have a random chance at winning something but noooo .Now some team that plays TF2 all day, will come up with some 1337 strategy, and have 8 guys that are all better then me are going to win! Excuse my language but POOP ON YOU for not being strong and falling to the feet of the guys who wear thongs!
