I'll let Hearts share what he knows.
Remember that Comcast is also capped, although their cap is unofficial and pretty arbitrary. I think that DSL's performance is equal to that of Comcast. Comcast advertises higher speeds, but they are rarely realized.
Also according to this person Xmission caps Utopia usage at 100 GB/month.
Oh geeze, that just takes away all of the visions i had of getting UTOPIA...

you pr0n monkey.

But it's still faster. and the cost per GB over the limit isn't much. Plus, if you need the cap removed, you can pay a bit more for a business type of account. They start at $40 for the 100GB capped 50 Mbps up and down, and according to this person, the BW limits aren't heavily enforced. I'd rather pay $40 for the faster + capped, than $57 for the crappy 384 Kbps up shared cable connection.
Well that is bullshit Xmission Utopia customers are capped at 500GB with a 50Mbit/sec transfer rate both ways. Every 500GB block after your first 500GB costs you $50, and yes you have to purchase it in blocks.
As far as, any new Utopia news... you will all just have to wait.

Actually Xmission does offer a 15Mbit/sec 100GB capped connection too.
I bet Qwest and Comcast are filled with glee.
