w00t! One of these years I'm gonna have to try to make it out there. The 20 hour car ride sucks, I wonder how long a train would take... Second thought... Train LAN!?

Actually, they have this cool technology available now called commercial flight. It can get you to Dallas in only 3 hours!
DFW is a shithole of an airport though.. and would you trust the airline with your gaming rig?
The trick is to fly into Dallas Love Field, and have your PC shipped separately.
I'd almost rather trust the airline than FedEx/UPS/etc...
besides, road trips are fun.
Roadtrips on a train are fun too. The train would be good because you could game all the way down and use your phone for internet access.
a train would be funner if you could ride in the hobo car..
I actually made it to Quakecon 2005 and had a blast. I drove there and you're right, the 22 hour car ride sucked bigfoots hairy sack! But in the end it was well worth it. The amount of swag they give away is huge, and the LAN party is the shit!
If finances and everything else works out the I will try to make it this year as well. So if anyone is serious let me know and maybe we can carpool.
