The news you have all been waiting for! The GEEX LAN party registrations are now up and waiting for you to enter all of your personal info (down to CPU core count!). There is also a prepay discount of $10 in effect through the end of June. The ticket price is $40 if you prepay, or $50 if you pay on or after July 1, 2008. What does this include? For starters, it includes a 3 day exhibit pass, so you can enter the exhibit halls as often as you want for the duration of the event (during the hours of operation), 3 day LAN party, from 12:00 PM (noon) on Thursday until 8:00 PM on Saturday (non-stop), with tournaments throughout the event. You'll also get a ticket into the X96 Half Ass Show*! There will be 300 seats, and a 10 Mbit Internet connection to share for your online play.

We are also working on setting up a lounge room where you can go take a break from gaming and chill with your buddies, or take a nap. We're trying to get Love Sac** to bring out some cozy seats for the fatigued gamer, and we'll have some tables and chairs set up for the breakfast/lunch/dinner/midnight snack/elevensies break. There is also a possibility that there will be a few various types of consoles in the lounge room to partake in while your carple tunnel takes a rest.

There's a lot of great things planned for GEEX this year, and in the coming years, so spread the word and get ready for an awesome LAN party. Protocol 42 is proud to be part of a long awaited gaming convention in the Salt Lake valley, and we're doing all we can to ensure that this first year is only the beginning of a great yearly event. With continued support from the gaming community the GEEX event will shine above all other gaming conventions for years to come!

I understand that its 3 days but $40 bucks may have just priced me out. Besides, since I dont have a team for tourneys, 3 days seems a bit long to just pub around.

It is a bit higher than normal, but there is a bit more than usual going on. If nothing else, check out the convention, and I hope we'll see you in November.
